What we can do for your plant

01 · Assess

Reliability services

Establishing which equipment actually threatens your output, and where the maintenance budget should point.

  • Asset criticality assessments

If you are unsure which machines pose the biggest threat to your plant, we review and rank your equipment based on failure risks and production impact. This gives you a clear, prioritised matrix so you can focus your maintenance budget and spare parts where they matter most.

  • Failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA)

Once your critical assets are identified, we perform component-level mapping on key machinery to pinpoint exact failure points. By evaluating potential failure modes and their impact on safety, production and quality, we establish practical contingency plans and precise predictive maintenance triggers, so unscheduled downtime is stopped before it happens.

02 · Plan

Maintenance strategy

Doing the right work at the right interval, without paying for the rest.

  • Preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/PdM) strategy

Advice on efficient maintenance strategies to maximise asset uptime whilst minimising labour and materials costs. A schedule your team can keep up with is worth more than a thorough one they cannot.

  • Spare parts selection and inventory optimisation

Using data gathered from criticality analysis, we can help you optimise your spare part inventory, ensuring critical components are on hand to prevent extended downtime, without locking up unnecessary capital in obsolete and redundant stock.

03 · Monitor

Predictive maintenance and condition monitoring

Catching developing faults on the equipment that would cause the most disruption if it stopped.

  • Thermographic surveys

Regular, planned thermal imaging inspections of electrical and mechanical equipment, such as distribution boards, control panels, bearings and gearboxes, allow you to identify developing issues before a catastrophic failure occurs.

  • Power quality diagnostics

Comprehensive logging of site power quality to identify supply issues, eliminate harmonic distortion, and prevent unexplained equipment trips.

04 · Support

Incident reviews

Understanding what caused the last failure, and making the next one cost less.

  • Engineering investigations and root cause analysis (RCA)

If you have suffered major downtime on key equipment, or repeated nuisance failures on hardware, we can help you identify the root cause of the problem and suggest fixes to stop them happening again.

A note on scope. Border Asset Reliability is a maintenance and reliability consultancy. We help you establish what to maintain, when and why, and we investigate failures after the event. The repair work itself stays with your own team or contractors.

Pricing

Three tiers, scaled to asset count

Services start from £250. Rates scale with asset count, so there is a tier to suit every site.

  • Focused

Designed for smaller sites, or for a single known bottleneck.

Up to 3 assets / panels

  • Expanded

A broader sweep across the equipment that matters most.

Up to 5 assets / panels

  • Comprehensive

Designed for broader production line reviews.

Up to 10 assets / panels

If the scope of the work goes beyond ten assets, a per asset fee applies. Fixed bundles combining several services are also available, with savings of up to 10% against booking each service on its own.

Travel terms and surcharges

  • Up to 30 minutes travel from Carlisle: included in the standard service fee.
  • 30 to 60 minutes from Carlisle: a flat £45 travel surcharge per site visit.
  • Beyond 60 minutes from Carlisle: by arrangement, charged at 55p per mile plus £30 per hour of travel, each way.

Not sure which of these you need?

A criticality assessment is usually the sensible starting point, because it tells you where everything else should be aimed. Give us a call and we will talk it through.
