Who we are

Border Asset Reliability Ltd is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17429378, with a registered office at 35 Green Lane, Carlisle, CA2 7QD.

What we collect, and when

We only collect personal data that you give us directly:

• When you use the contact form: your name, email address, and optionally your company or site name, phone number, the service you are interested in, and whatever you write in the message field.
• When you email, call or message us: your contact details and the content of your message.
• During an engagement: the business contact details of the people we work with at your site, and any site or equipment information you share with us.

We do not run advertising trackers, analytics profiling or behavioural cookies on this website.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

• To reply to your enquiry and discuss possible work. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, namely responding to someone who has approached us about our services.
• To deliver work you have engaged us for, and to invoice for it. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
• To keep records required of a UK limited company. Lawful basis: legal obligation.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to send marketing unless you have separately asked us to.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Records relating to work we have carried out, including correspondence and invoices, are kept for seven years to meet HMRC and company record-keeping requirements, then deleted.

Who we share it with

We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own purposes. We do use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, under contract:

• Our website host and content delivery network, which processes the technical request data needed to serve this site.
• Our form delivery provider, which passes contact form submissions to our email.
• Our email and accounting providers.

We may also disclose data where we are legally required to.

Cookies and this website

This website does not set any cookies of its own, and does not use analytics or advertising cookies. Typeface files are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to a Google server and your IP address is visible to Google as part of that request. No cookie is set by that request.

Where your data is held

Our providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers are covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the International Data Transfer Addendum, as required by UK GDPR.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct anything inaccurate;
• ask us to delete it, where we have no continuing reason to hold it;
• ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it;
• ask for it in a portable format;
• withdraw consent, where we have relied on consent.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
